JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF or BMP; HEIC where your browser opens it (Safari). Up to 50 megapixels each.
The first cut-out downloads the cutting files once (about 113–127 MB); your browser keeps them for the next photos.
No photo to hand? Try one of these:
How it works
- Choose, drop or paste one photo or many.
- The background is taken away by itself, whatever the photo shows: a person, a product, a pet or a car.
- Touch up with Erase and Restore, pick a background, a shadow or an outline, and a size.
- Download a PNG, JPG or WebP at the photo's full resolution, or all of them as one ZIP.
Why this one
- Your photo stays with you
- The cut-out is made by your own browser. Nothing is uploaded, so there is nothing to delete later.
- Full resolution, free
- No low-resolution preview and no credits: the download is as large as your photo, up to 50 megapixels. A very large Size choice is scaled down to what your browser can save.
- No account, no subscription
- Nothing to sign up for and nothing to cancel. No watermark, no daily limit, and you may use the results in your work.
- Finish it here
- Erase and restore, colours, blur, your own background, shadow, outline, marketplace sizes and batch ZIP on one page.
Questions
Is it really free?
Yes. There is no paid version and no limit on how many photos. The cut-out is made on your device, not on a server of ours, so a photo costs us next to nothing.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. The page downloads its cutting files once and then does everything inside your browser. You can check: after the first cut-out, switch your connection off and add more photos to the open page; they are cut all the same.
Why is the first cut-out slower?
Your browser downloads the cutting files the first time (about 113–127 MB) and keeps them; later cut-outs skip the download.
What can it cut out?
People, whole figures and groups, products, animals, cars and plants. One cut-out works for every kind of photo, so there is nothing to choose first.
Can I use the results for my shop or my work?
Yes. The pictures you make are yours, with no watermark and no licence fee.
What happens to remove.bg?
remove.bg has said it is moving into Canva. Its own site said on 3 November 2026: «The standalone website will no longer be available from 1 December 2026 at 9:00am CET». This page is a free alternative that needs no account.
The edge is not right. What can I do?
Open «Cut-out», pick Erase or Restore and paint over the part; zoom in for fine work. Undo takes back a stroke.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes, in a current browser. On a phone, a photo over 24 megapixels is scaled down to 24 (on a computer, over 50 to 50), and the page says so on that photo. Very large photos need a lot of memory and take longer on a phone.
